Defination of Feminism.
In this generation, feminism is a trending topic that many try to prove, yet it gets misunderstood. Feminism, feminist, all these terms are used as a tag line to insist on women empowerment. But those who emphasize that, are getting ridiculously mocked.
As a woman, I always love being empowered and independent and I get very excited and show keen interest if there are any topics related to women empowerment.
Recently, there was a conversation with my close friend and he was saying, women who desperately need equality, use feminism as a tool. He boasted that men are already empowered and women are trying to copy them.
I felt quite sad because most of the men as well as few women, think that feminism is all about women’s equality alone. Although that can be partially agreed at few places, we can’t conclude solely that it’s all about getting equal rights.
So what do women really need? Love, attention, respect?
Every woman deserves to get all these, but there is another important thing that we need to be aware of.
I believe feminism is all about understanding that woman are indeed capable. It’s the matter of capability rather than insisting about equality.
Feminism can benefit a society only if women get appropriate support from men. Though they do support, at times they think that women can’t do certain things and they underestimate women’s capacity. If this thought is changed, there will be no place for mocking and misunderstanding.
Hope this will give an insight about what a woman truly needs and shall paves a way for understanding much better about feminism.
