Mending Broken Dreams

Power of those who can create a positive impact in our life

An Article By Nazia Tabasum A

There are very few people who arrive in our life at the right time, create positive impacts and expect nothing in return. Having such kinds of people in our life is truly a great blessing and remembering them during every aspect of our life is the greatest way to show our gratitude.

Today, in this article, I would like to share about the people who inspired me to create a positive impact on other lives.

My debut book, Scribbler Voice, was released in the month of February 2022 . I was nominated and got shortlisted under “Authors and Writers” and selected as an awardee. It was hosted by a reputed organisation, Women of Substance Network,  Jaipur. With many public figures as chief guests, they organized a grand award ceremony on the account of Women’s day 2022 . I was invited to attend the event in Jaipur but due to an unavoidable situation, I couldn’t go in person to receive my award.

It was a stepping stone in my literary journey as I finally achieved my dream of becoming a published author. But missing that event was truly heart-breaking as it was nearly a broken dream experience.

Seeing me upset, my family members consoled me not to regret it and they convinced me that surely I might get another chance to lighten up my writing dream. But to let go of this feeling of regret was very hard.

My dad, Alijohn, was the one  who always encouraged me to achieve well in writing and it was at that time he happened to get in contact with a Social Worker, Nasrullah Sir. During their conversation,  my dad shared my book to him and told how much worried I was about not attending the grand event at Jaipur.

Seeing my writings, he told my dad about an award ceremony that was supposed to be held for Women’s day 2022 in our city by an organization, The Guidance Council (TGC). Within a few days, I attended the women’s day celebration event and received the award as a recognition. Not only did I feel emotional, but thanked the Almighty for embarking again on my literary journey through these two people, who used to read my write-ups and give their feedbacks.

That’s how the positive impact feels. When you feel lowest in your life, few come to bridge the gap that  regrets has caused. And those people not only help us to bring back our confidence but, at the same time, pave a way to not give up on our dreams. In return, they expect nothing but the satisfaction they feel is very worthful.

Even now, every time I see that award, I feel grateful and remember my dad and Nasrullah Sir, the two who played a major role in brightening up my writing journey. Indeed, this motivated me to publish two more books and definitely, their presence has brought back my confidence at the right time.

Through this incident, I learned a valuable lesson to make an impact on others’ lives in a  positive way, which will not only help them to progress towards their goals but, also can give hope to not regret about the missed chances.
