“We Deserve a Sunday Too”

Why do homemakers deserve a break?

Taking a break from a routine schedule is a necessity. But how far does this apply to women, especially homemakers? It’s sad to see a homemaker who is quite busy during most of the Sundays, while the rest of the family enjoys their leisure time.

From children to adults, they desperately wait for weekends and as soon as it arrives, through various means, they find relaxation. Few travel around, some spend time with family and most enjoy time with their phone in comfy beds. This is easily applicable to men, as our society asserts that they deserve a break. But the same is seen as a debatable thing when it comes to working women and homemakers.

From managing household responsibilities to taking care of family every day, prioritizing the home and doing the errands ,women spend most of their time multitasking. For them, Sundays are hectic, as those days will be piled up with additional chores.

Because of this continuous routine and  lack of personal time, they feel overwhelmed and that leads to physical and mental burnouts. That’s why this blog post emphasizes the need of those hardworking individuals to take a break.

While it’s glad to see this thing is being voiced out recently through movies, when it comes to practical life,  it’s still a dream for most homemakers who don’t get a chance to take rest.

So there may be a question about who will manage the home when women take a break. Because weekends are the time when family members get connected with each other and women play a major role in bridging family bonds. This is efficiently well managed by the homemakers as they feel hesitation in neglecting responsibilities completely and always tend to prioritise family rather than themselves.

This should be mutually understood by the rest of the family members and if the workload is shared to an extent, women at home can deserve a break on Sundays too, by spending their leisure time. Although not possible in some situations for an entire day,  but atleast for a few hours, so that they can relieve their stress and recharge.

Some men are changing this concept as they share chores at home on weekends by taking care of their kids, at times by preparing meals and doing other errands at home. They understand the importance of their partner’s well being and ensure that women also deserve to get relaxation from their busy schedules.

“We deserve a Sunday too”. Hope this silent request of most women who always prioritize home and family, will be given equal importance widely in the near future.
