Art of Teaching

A dedicated profession.

Profession – We all need this to make our living. There are various types of professions we are commonly aware of. Doctor, teacher, engineer, lawyer, author and the list goes on. But, above all, there is a misconception in the society that teaching is the most convenient one.

So, is that true? I happened to connect with a teacher recently, who works in a reputed organization and has an adequate experience in teaching.

As I have always been interested in writing about women’s upliftment, I requested her to share how, through teaching, a woman can inspire others.

As a teacher, she shared various facts about her experiences, emotions, commitments and mission.

“One of the major thoughts about teaching is, most people think that our job is quite a comfortable one. But, it’s totally a misconception. Teaching is not only a profession, but it is similar to taking responsibility for parenting a huge number of kids.

Although we have a family, once we step into school, our focus and attention is completely dedicated thoroughly to the students. But it can’t be vice-versa. If we are at home, we constantly have to think about how our way of teaching can benefit students, how can we assist them during their hard times, especially when they are feeling low. At times, we may also have to become a therapist in order to motivate the students.

Few come into the teaching field as a passion, and few people take up this job under certain situations. Yet, the second category will automatically have dedication and, eventually, they start loving the teaching profession.

Not only academic lessons, we are also bound to teach life lessons that can indeed enlighten the lives of students.”

Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.

There is a common misunderstanding that women are weak. But as a woman, through teaching, she plays a major role in uplifting the future generations and an inspiration for the society.
